The Beginning of our Great Adventure

Teller, Alaska is located on a Spit in the Bush in Alaska. We are the only village in all of Alaska that has a road in and out. the road to Nome is about 75 miles away. The snow closes it down about the end of October then reopens with the Spring thaw. About six months from now.

Old Motel / Our New Home
Post office next door. Lucky!
We live in an old duplex. Looks like an old motel.
We live on left side of stairs.
Running salt water good for flushing. Ron hauls in 5 gal potable water, we filter that for drinking water.

To wash dishes, we heat water, pour into dish tub, scrubby, then rinse in same fashion.

*Interesting side note, with the running salt water we are unable to take showers in our motel/duplex. Nor can we do our laundry. SO we go to the school, there is washer and dryer there and the showers are there as well. I must say, it is VERY important to pick a proper time to take a shower.

Personally, I prefer to be the only person in the gym shower. Let's vote!
