White Mountain Sink Hole
This one was taken while my entire right leg was buried in the snow drift.
Since Ron is the cross country ski coach and he has two students going to participate, a boy and a girl (the rest didn't make their grades), I got to come along as the girl's chaperone. Woo Hoo We are in White Mountain. Guess what???? There are TREES, REAL PINE TREES, long tall skinny ones, big bushy ones, little bush ones, hills and mountains of trees. Wow. There is only one tree in the tundra where I live. This is such a treat.
I went outside after breakfast to take some pictures. I wanted to get close to a tall skinny tree and get a different shot. All was going fine, until.....I took one step and that leg sunk to my butt in snow, a big ol' bunch of soft snow. Being me, I laughed, took more pictures, put my camera away so I could protect it, put on my gloves said a little prayer and.... laid out on the snow, pulled my leg out. Almost left my boot at the bottom of the hole.
I hit the snow with each hand as I crawled to be sure that I wouldn't cave in again, then made it to firm snow. I just kept laughing.
I called Ron, he didn't answer his phone. I was about to call the principal at Teller, ask her to call this school, White Mountain have them go outside and look for a red coat very close to the ground sticking out of the snow, and send a rescue party.
Alas, I made it myself. hahahaha
Here are the pictures that made it worth while.
